18th Century English Carved Frame
An 18th Century Hand Carved and Gilded English Louis XIV/Regence Frame, ref 490
This is an original carved and gilded English frame from the 18th Century, with some losses to the carved wood at three corners, with one being complete and undamaged. Some of the centre ornaments also have some minor areas of damage. The finish is rather dark, although this is mainly gold leaf covered in years of patina, there are some areas of touching up and overpaint. A very nice balance and design to the ornament, and really a lovely genuine antique frame.
